i just bought a seemingly perfect pair of green trousers from zara

and, being aware of girls’ bad experiences with their pants, i checked them really thoroughly in the store before paying. the inner leg seams, the outer seams, the zipper…

and it was all okay. and it was okay when i tried them on.

i went home. tried them on again, walked around the house a bit

and spotted A FUCKING HOLE IN THE INNER LEG SEAM THAT WAS THERE THE WHOLE TIME.

luckily, they’re double seamed [on the inside] so there’s another stitch row behind the hole, but WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK.

IS IT THAT HARD TO MAKE NORMAL, QUALITY PANTS?

i paid almost 30euros for this, i demand normal thread and normal fucking seams, what the fuck.

The V&A says: Pattens were worn to lift the shoe out of the dirt and damp. Being somewhat heavy and clumsy, they were mainly used by working-class or country women.

These pattens, however, have pointed toes to fit a fashionable woman’s shoe and a depression at the back where a small heel could sit. The shoe would have been fastened into the patten by means of ribbon-laced latchets. All this, and the fact that the latchets are covered in velvet, suggests that the patterns were worn by someone of considerable wealth.
